Adding a GAC Component to a Project

After choosing the type of an item (in this case GAC Component) to be added to a package, the list of available GAC Component is displayed to the user. The list of GAC Components contains more information about it (name, version, processor architecture, etc.). The information is visible when a GAC Component is added to the package in the Definition Tab.

In case of adding a GAC Component to an old project (with a GAC Component inside) in which there is no information about GAC Component version, there is a need to use Detect Changes option to see the information about the version of an already added GAC Component. After performing this action it is possible to add GAC Component of a different version, as without this information it would have been impossible.

Dependent items will be explicitly added to a Project if the user expands tree branches of the previously selected GAC Component (items added to a Project will be only these ones that are expanded on the wizard).

Dependent prime GAC Components will be included to the package in the same way like standard components (regardless of prime data settings from central configuration). To learn how to add a GAC Component, see the topic Add Item Wizard.
