Global Process Manager provides support for multi-server and cluster environments to increase data reliability and availability. To learn more on setting up multi-server environment, see DELMIA Apriso High Availability Installation Guide.
If GPM is working in a clustered or multi-server environment (e.g. is connected to a cluster server that contains of cluster nodes or uses more than one server that is not a part of a cluster, such as App and Web server), additional node appears in Console Tree, Environment Nodes. After this node is selected, a list of servers will appear in the Content View Pane on the right.
This list contains information about the nodes:
Right-clicking on the node opens a context menu with two items:
If Package deployment fails on a node because the GPM service has stopped on that node, the system will automatically attempt to deploy the Package again once the service is running. However, if the Package had already been deployed on the node before and it is now being redeployed, the system will not attempt to deploy the Package again once the service is running. In such a case, the administrator should redeploy the Package manually.
Most of DELMIA Apriso services are managed by Cluster Manager which means that service runs only on one node and if the service is stopped then Cluster Manager tries to restart the service and if that fails, starts all the services on another, functional cluster node However, Global Process Manager Service is not managed by Cluster Manager as it must run on all nodes in the same time. This means that if Global Process Manager service stops working it will not be automatically restarted by Cluster Manager. If Global Process Manager service is stopped on active cluster node then GPM application is not able to connect to such cluster (and perform any operation) until the service is manually started. If Global Process Manager service is stopped on stand-by cluster node then GPM application works normally using primary node. The standby-node is updated with latest GPM packages) when the service is started on the secondary node.
The account rights used by GPM Service should be granted to "gpmglobaldeploymentnotifications" Microsoft Message Queuing.
